The Mariposa Center offers clinical and reflective supervision, consultation, and training for interns, externs, professionals, and agencies.
For Interns
The Mariposa Center offers several year-long internship placements for graduate level students in the fields of counseling, social work, expressive art therapies (including dance/movement and art therapy), somatic psychotherapy, and child and family therapy.
Students interested in an internship at Mariposa, beginning around September 1st, should submit application materials by February 1st.
Please submit a current CV; a cover letter describing experience with trauma, children, and families; and three professional reference letters to info@mariposacenterdenver.com. After reviewing application materials, best-fit students will be offered an in-person interview with the Mariposa team. Applicants may be subject to a background check.
For Externs
The Mariposa Center offers a year-long externship to a qualified clinician with a Master’s degree in counseling, social work, expressive art therapies (including dance/movement and art therapy), somatic psychotherapy, or child and family therapy.
The Mariposa Center provides, at no cost to the extern, weekly supervision toward licensure, monthly group supervision, multiple training opportunities, and private practice development opportunities; at a value of approximately $6000.00-$8000.00. An additional monthly stipend is also possible.
Individuals interested in the externship, which begins around September 1st, should submit application materials by February 1st.
Please submit a current CV; a cover letter describing experience with trauma, children, and families; a separate paragraph describing theoretical orientation; and three professional reference letters to info@mariposacenterdenver.com. After reviewing application materials, best-fit candidates will be offered an in-person interview with the Mariposa team. Applicants may be subject to a background check.
For Professionals
Supervision: The Mariposa Center provides individual and group supervision (both clinical and reflective in nature) for non-licensed clinicians on track with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies to become licensed mental health therapists and for licensed clinicians desiring additional support. Our Registered and Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapists provide supervision for professionals seeking clinical support around somatic and creative arts approaches to therapy. The Mariposa Center also supports those seeking Endorsement in Infant Mental Health through The Colorado Association for Infant Mental Health by offering reflective supervision/consultation. Consultation: The Mariposa Center provides clinical and reflective consultation to individuals and agencies (i.e., preschools, childcare centers, schools, after-school programs) on topics including, but not limited to: early childhood development, trauma, attachment and parent-child relationships, somatosensory interventions, vicarious/secondary trauma, creative arts therapy and dance/movement therapy, infant mental health, and early intervention and transdisciplinary approaches to counseling.
For Agencies
The Mariposa Center offers trainings on a variety of topics including early childhood trauma and organizational wellness. Additionally, clinicians at The Mariposa Center support employees of many local agencies by offering reflective supervision and consultation.
